oobgolf is a golf website that helps golf enthusiasts find what they need, anything from golf news to equipment you’ll more than likely find it there. The site offers lots of tools and information for golfers such as reviews, forums, reports and charts, leaderboards, and more.
oobgolf also offers an amazing golf course finder that you can use for free. The oobgolf course finder is powered by MapQuest, by that I mean that it was built with the Mapquest API, and it is a great location service built with golfers in mind. You can use this tool to find the location of any golf course in the world! To find one all you have to do is enter the name of a golf course in the search box and hit enter.
You can also find golf courses by entering an address, city, state, or zip code, once you have entered all the required information click on “find” and you’re done. If you’re looking for golf courses outside the U.S., then simply click on the drop down menu which is set to the United States by default to choose the right country.
The oobgolf course finder is a location based service that works extremely well, once you’re at the site you’ll notice on the left side of your screen a list of the closest golf courses near you. You’ll also notice a bunch of colored dots on the map, each dot represents a golf course and each color represents its status. Green dots represent public golf courses, black dots are the private ones, red is for resorts, yellow represents semi-private courses, and blue dots represent golf courses located in military installations.
