Mapquest 4 Mobile

Download Mapquest Mobile on the iTunes app store for free, the Free Map Quest app for mobile is currently available for iPhone and Android phones. M4M is the only app that provides Skyhook technology for free, this app also offers voice guided, turn by turn directions, your phone will actually provide real spoken directions that will increase your driving safety.

Mapquest 4 Mobile is truly unique, every driver should use it, because it has really cool features that any person will find useful in one way or another, an app like this one will help you save loads of time and money. As mentioned earlier Mapquest Mobile has really neat features, for example, you can listen to your favorite type of music, and even make calls while the Mapquest routing software indicates you by voice where to go. You can use M4M to check live traffic updates every 5 minutes, you can also make simple 1 click searches to find restaurants, gas stations, hotels, etc.

Mapquest for Mobile allows you to get walking directions as well, M4M also has a really cool auto re-routing feature that’s pretty handy if you ever take a wrong turn, because as soon as the GPS notices that you’ve made a mistake, it will automatically make adjustments to your route in order to help you get back on track. The Mapquest app for mobile also allows you to add multiple stops to your route, you can explore maps using landscape view, and it also has a very interesting energy saving mode for your phone, it’s very useful when you are running low on battery. M4M has many more features, but I guess that if you really want to discover all the features and tools that this app has you’ll simply have to download it through MQ Wireless page.

M4M has GPS capabilities that can only be enabled on iPhone and Android mobile phones, in fact Mapquest 4 Mobile is only available for these two platforms. M4M is really one of the best mobile mapping and routing applications out there, if you drive, or if you like to explore the world through interactive maps and high quality images, then you should definitely download it, don’t forget that it is free, so you don’t have to worry about paying monthly fees or stuff like that.

However, there’s another way to use m4m, you can access the Map Quest mobile site through your phone’s web browser, simply type mapquest.com on your mobile’s web browser to access the site. The Map Quest mobile website is a lot more limited, but you can explore maps and get directions without having to download anything. I prefer using the Map Quest app for mobile though, it is a lot more complete, it offers a lot more tools and features than the mobile site, another positive thing about installing the app on your phone is that you will have a cool little icon that will allow you to easily access Mapquest mobile.

To Download Mapquest for Mobile visit the Map Quest Wireless website, simply click on the previous link to be automatically redirected to the official download page, there you will be able to select your device in order to download the appropriate version of the M4M app for your device.

Another cool option used to be Mapquest Navigator. This is one of the few web mapping services that has remained strong in the world of online maps and free driving directions, let’s face it most online mapping softwares have lost their power now all you hear is Google Maps this or Map Quest that, the rest appear to be falling into obscurity and anonymity. Ever since Google launched Google Maps and directions these two companies have been fighting for the number one position, so since then the competition between these two companies has been extremely fierce, but in a good way, it has pushed both of them to become the two most recognized web map providers in the world, it has allowed them to constantly create better features and tools for their users.

Good and fair competition is always great, it allows people and companies to become better as they go, for example competition has allowed Google Maps and Mapquest to develop more advanced features, better products, and better services. Now both services offer free apps for mobile that allow you to get driving directions and maps at any place, at any time.

Mapquest Navigator offers turn by turn voice guided driving directions on your phone, it is available for the following carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, SunCom Wireless, Centennial Wireless, and Rogers Wireless, unlike the other free app that Mapquest offers this one you have to pay for. If you purchase Navigator for one month it will cost you $9.99 a month, if you purchase this service for one year it will cost you only $49.99 a year, that means that you will only have to pay $4.17 every month.

Mapquest also offers a free app for any mobile platform, this app does everything that the Navigator app does and probably a lot more, well to be honest I don’t know because I have never used Mapquest Navigator, all I know is that the free app also allows you to get turn by turn voice guided directions directly from your mobile phone, and it also offers skyhook technology which enables GPS capabilities to your phone in places where it wasn’t possible before.

Turn by turn directions and skyhook technology aren’t the only great features that this app has, you can pretty much do everything that you would normally do on the desktop version of this online mapping software. This app even has a feature that makes driving at night safer, it reduces the back-light flare of your phone when you are driving in low light conditions. Since you have to pay for it I assume that Navigator is better than Mapquest Mobile, but I guess that we’ll never know because I’m in love with M4M and I don’t plan to spend money on things that I can get for free.

If you want to get Mapquest Navigator, which is powered by Telmap by the way, simply make a search using the Google search engine and I’m sure you’ll find it right away. If you want to get Mapquest for mobile which is the best free alternative click here, M4M is also available for iPhone, Blackberry Smartphone, HTC Touch, and 30 other mobile devices.
